Katrina Foley Presents Trophies at Pro Classic Tennis Tournament
Costa Mesa City Council member, Katrina Foley, presents trophies at the 2008 Costa Mesa Pro Classic Men's Tennis Tournament.
(EMAILWIRE.COM, September 24, 2008 ) COSTA MESA, CA September 24th, 2008 – After taking a year off due to injuries number two seed Zack Fleishman rallied back from a first set deficit to upset number one seed, Michael McClune, 4-6, 6-4 7-6 (5). The first and second sets went quickly with big serves and blasting forehands. In the third set Fleishman broke McClune to go up 5-4 and McClune held to take the match into a tie-break.
Fleishman stayed calm and closed the match after McClune returned Fleishman’s serve into the net.
Costa Mesa City Council member, Katrina Foley, congratulated the players and presented the trophies.
The $10,000 USTA Pro Circuit Futures world-class event boasts players from over 12 different nations. The United States Tennis Association organizes, sponsors and administers the USTA Pro Circuit – the Futures are professional tournaments offering $10,000 to $15,000 in prize money and are typically the proving ground for top-ranked juniors, college players and pros at the beginning of their careers. This year, players from more than 50 countries will be competing in 96 USTA Pro Circuit events for $3 million in prize money.
The event was held at the Costa Mesa Tennis Center located in the beautiful TeWinkle Park in Costa Mesa, California.
