SafeCycler Announces Test Results Versus Major Competitor
SafeCycler has tested its front light against a major competitor. The SafeCycler proved to be significantly brighter.
Both lights had the maximum voltage their design allows available. Fresh batteries were installed in the SafeCycler front light and a fresh re-charge in the case of the competitors light. The test was set up to ensure both lights we the same distance from the sensor that receives the light. The test was performed using a digital lux meter in controlled conditions.
The test results showed the competitors light to emit 140,000 lux, and the SafeCycler light to emit 219,000 lux. Therefore the conclusion is the SafeCycler light emits 56% more light than the competitor.
The SafeCycler spokesman attributes the brighter light to the fact that there are four AAA batteries powering the SafeCycler light while the competitor only has a small rechargeable battery. The spokesman explained that the brighter light will make it easier for cyclist to get noticed by drivers on the road. However, he also stated that it cannot be guaranteed that every motorist will see the light.
A comment made by potential SafeCycler customers is the physical size for the front light. The front light is much larger than the sleek design of the competitor. The SafeCycler spokesman acknowledged that the Safecycler light is much larger due to the four AAA batteries, the large LED bulb and parabolic reflector used in their design.
