Toothy Grins Releases Niederwalddenkmal Video
Niederwalddenkmal Monument Video Released
A company spokesman said this is a homemade video that brings to people a glimpse of something that most have never seen or even heard of. It is a part of Germany's history.
A wikipedia page states that the monument was commissioned to celebrate the founding of the Germanic Empire after the Franco-Prussian war. The Niederwalddenkmal monument was completed in 1873.
The monument consists of 3 main statues. The tall one on top shows a woman who holds the crown of the empire as well as the sword of the empire. Lower down on the monument are two smaller statues.
One of those statues is the 'war' statue and the other is the 'peace' statue. Below that is a depiction of Wlilhelm I and other members of the aristocracy surrounded by soldiers.
The entire monument is situated near the right bank of the Rhein near the beginning of the Taunus range. Surrounding the area are vineyards that produce what are considered by many to be among the finest wines of Germany.
For many Americans, this monument is something that has been unheard of. During this particular period of history, Americans were consumed by the aftermath of the American Civil War. Most history taught in America focuses on the American Civil War and history about what was happening in the other parts of the world is obscured by the American portion of history taught in American schools today.
As such, this video presents to Americans an opportunity to learn more about world history during this historic period of time. It also provides a glimpse of what most in America will never get to see in person.
The company said that it hopes to further promote its brand of tea tree oil through the youtube video.
