Rosehip Seed Oil Substantially Reduces Scar Tissue In Study
Surgical Scars Are Healing Well
Says Inflora CEO Laura Lambert, "we know this to be the case because of customer reports, and I also know this from personal use on a surgical scar, but it certainly helps to have more and more science back up the recommendation that organic rosehip oil is a great choice for a healing scar caused by surgery, among other skin difficulties."
The study included ten women aged 45-68 who had undergone a serious surgery.
Rosehip seed oil was applied after stitches were removed and after the area was washed and dried, and then massaged into the area. After three months of applying in the morning and evening, it was noted by the doctors that that the scars were less apparent, without lumps and that skin elasticity had improved and the color of the area had improved significantly.
The paper reports that "skin conditions were improving considerably... scars become softer and less prominent with continued daily use; scars, pits and blemishes (even such acne scars). The area of scar treatment is one where rose hip oil has had immense success."
Laura Lambert cites the trans-retinoic acid (vitamin A) which occurs in a bioavailable form naturally in rosehip seed oil, as one of the main active ingredients that regenerates damaged skin, improves blood irrigation and increases the regeneration of new skin tissue. She says "rosehip seed oil can create some pretty amazing results. We were pleased to report on this study and certainly are not at all surprised at the fantastic findings. We hear stories like this all of the time. Nature keeps delivering!"
Rosehip seed oil is made from pressing the seeds inside of the rose hips of the Rosa mosqueta rose variety that grows in southern Chile. It is imported to the US, and bottled at Inflora Botanica's facility in California.
