Freight and Volume Gallery Hosts Loren Munk's 'You Are Here' Art Show
Loren Munk has reviewed and discussed numerous art works mostly in New York under his pseudonym James Kalm in YouTube videos and magazines such as the Brooklyn Rail. The first person perspective videos on YouTube offer the viewers a tour of latest work from reputed artists with slight commentary from Loren Munk himself providing insightful details of the art. These videos are very frequently uploaded on Loren’s channel ‘jameskalm’ which now have over 100 videos.
Loren Munk’s ‘You are Here’ will be exhibited till March 15th and is another magnificent display of visceral work presented by the Nicholas Lawrence Freight and Volume Gallery New York. Since 2005, Nick in his gallery has hosted art that pushes the boundaries of existing artwork and is created by emerging or established artists. Munk has not been shy in using multitude of colors in nearly all of the mosaics. The map like paintings have extensive words, phrases and sentences, which mention historical facts, express a certain subject in specific time period of art history, mention prominent artists or further voice out the art piece itself.
