The MXL USB.009 is the first professional 24 bit USB microphone intended for high performance broadcast and music applications without the need for a studio.

Applications include overdubbing raw video footage in the field, radio commercials, voice-overs, music, and podcasting.

The USB.009 connects directly to a USB input on a computer without the need for an external mic preamp or any other type of studio equipment. Working with the new MXL USB.009 mic couldn't be easier. As a plug and play device for both Windows-based and Macintosh computers, it requires no additional drivers whatsoever. Simply connect the microphone's USB cable to a computer USB port, and installation is quick and effortless.

A unique feature of the MXL USB.009 mic is its voltage converters that operates the analog front end similar to a pure analog mic that requires 48 volt phantom power.

The mic features 24 bit/96kHz recording, a large 32mm condenser capsule with 6 micron gold diaphragm, a low-noise analog front end, 24 bit A/D converter, 114 dB dynamic range, and a USB interface. The mic’s front panel has a gain control, and a control that lets you set the mix between playback and recording for comfortable monitoring of multi-track recordings. The front panel also includes a 1/8th inch headphone jack for monitoring your recording with zero latency. The mic incorporates a studio quality headphone amplifier that provides plenty of volume with any headphone with an impedance from 32 to 200 ohms.

The new MXL USB.009 ships with an aluminum flight case, a desktop microphone stand, microphone stand mount adapter, 10 foot USB 2.0 high speed cable, micro-fiber cleaning cloth, an owner’s manual, and a microphone applications guide.
