Georgia Sends Out Emergency Crews For Road Readiness
The state of Georgia has prepared a full emergency response crew in all cities. This is due to the icy roads which are causing accidents and injuries to drivers and citizens on the road.
According to CEMA Director Clayton Scott, the most dangerous and alarming of all roads are icy bridges. Since these are elevated, the chances of a severe accident are highest when passing these slippery grounds. Bridges are also more vulnerable to freezing because they are open on both sides, allowing more cold air to circulate. The Tallmadge Bridge is currently under observation and local authorities are planning to close it to prevent accidents.
In some cities such as Savannah, there are no supplies of salt or gravel, but they do have tons of sand to spread around the city. Peter Shonka of Savannah city has advised citizens to stay at home. But for those who cannot avoid going out, it is recommended to always have an emergency kit in your vehicles.
Everyone should have a light stick ready. Light sticks can help drivers to ask for assistance in case they get stranded on the road during the night. These temporary light sources can also last for a long time so they can be stored in the trunk for several months.
Apart from light sticks, drivers should also have extra food, water, blankets, and clothing in their vehicles. It is also advisable to have some heat source at hand, like a candle or lighter.
GlowZebra is dedicated to producing the best quality light sticks for their customers. As a newly established company, GlowZebra is building its reputation around the quality of its product as well as its practicality. The company is also offering a discount with the coupon code NGC6EHTY.
