Sales Trainer Grant Perry Discusses How to Create a Successful Sales Formula
Grant Perry, a sales trainer in Phoenix, AZ, is interviewed by Small Enterprise Journal about the necessary components of a successful sales formula.
Perry is a sales expert with over 25 years of experience in sales and business development. The topic of the interview was how to create a successful sales formula.
When asked about why it is necessary to have a planned sales formula, Perry responded "It's amazing that even in a lot of circles that you and I would consider quite professional, people wing it." Perry further expressed the importance of planning your sales process while he discussed scripting, "You would be amazed how many people cannot write out a script. Michael Gerber who wrote The e-Myth basically stated that he wanted all of his salespeople to be scripted. He really hammered this point home. Whether you literally regurgitate a script word for word, or it's just basically that you have a patterned dialogue that you have in your mind and on paper written out, it is tremendously powerful."
Further on in the interview, Perry discussed the importance of developing rapport and trust with prospects, saying that if there is no trust, there is no chance at making a sale, to instead think of it as entering into a partnership with your client. Perry commented "Trust and rapport, it's as old as Dale Carnegie and How To Win Friends and Influence People. You know, Stephen Covey probably said it best, "Seek first to understand, then to be understood."
"We were compelled to interview Grant Perry because of the frequent reports we receive of people struggling in all industries. No matter what industry you are in, you are in sales in some way, whether you realize it or not. We felt it important to include content to help people with their goals in today's marketplace," said Small Enterprise Journal. "The full interview is available on our website."
