Could Tea As A Health Drink Change Long Standing Traditions?
Tea’s health benefits are well-known. Herbal and green teas are becoming more and more popular in England as the population moves away from traditional drinks.
A research company, Mintel, found the total number of people in England who drink traditional types of tea fell from 87% to 83% in one year. By 2012, fewer were drinking old-school varieties and opting for the green tea and other herbal teas. The company also predicted the tea market to grow significantly over the next few years, with a rise in the sale of these types being dominant factors.
The change in tradition is likely to impact what Britons choose to drink as afternoon tea. Herbal types are known to make one feel better and improve overall health. Furthermore, some teas can help prevent heart disease, cancer, Alzheimer's, and other diseases, so many people are choosing to drink it because of the health benefits.
Tea has been popular across Great Britain for centuries, back to the 1600s. Historically, it became a center for tea imports and new ways to prepare it were developed in the 1800s. While kettles and tea bags have been traditional, tea strainers have also been used and their use has been growing in popularity as more people switch to loose leaf tea due to its better benefits and flavors.
In light of this, the Premium Tea Infuser was just introduced by Coolahoo in July and has already started to become popular on Amazon in the US. This basket style product has a fine stainless steel mesh so it can be easily filled with tea leaves. It yields fresh tea with little sediment and more taste and nutrients.
Easy to fill and clean, the infuser provides room for the tea to expand (so the flavor and health-boosting elements get through). Its handle eases removal from a hot pot or mug, or it can be held as a strainer while pouring from a pot. Even better, the product fits most standard tea pots, mugs, and cups.
The Premium Tea Infuser and other similar strainers are changing the way tea is drunk and enjoyed as people are moving away from traditional tea bags to using loose leaf teas for variety and health.
Coolahoo is a new company and provider of the Premium Tea Infuser sold on Amazon.com. The product was launched in July 2013. The Coolahoo.com site features blog articles and news related to tea.
