Over 59 million Pounds spent in 2012 on clothing and footwear

And while the interest in clothing has stayed the same, the style of shopping has changed. Just over a full third of UK consumers shop for clothes online. And that number is expected to grow to 60% within the next 18 months.
Sales have continued to make landmark numbers in the past three years. In 2010, over 1.5 billion Pounds was spend on clothing manufactured in the UK. In 2012, over 1.5 million pairs of various footwear were manufactured by Hotter shoes. And this year, the U.K. had a 1.1% rise in consumer spending saw over 7 Billion Pounds spend in July 2013 for apparel, outdoor accessories, and sun cream.
The infographic also points out that more money is spend on clothing in the UK than education, alcoholic, tobacco, and narcotics, or health. And the number appears only to be growing as years pass.
