O’Connor, Acciani & Levy Report Alcohol May Have Been Factor in Middletown Motorcycle Crash
Motorcycle Accident Engulfs Bike in Flames, Throws Helmetless Rider 130 Feet
33-year-old Michael Smith was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident and alcohol is suspected to be involved in the crash. At the corner of N. Breiel Blvd. near Riverview Avenue, Smith struck a utility pole and was ejected from the motorcycle. Officers arrived on scene to find the motorcycle engulfed in flames and Smith on the ground.
Motorcycle accidents can do serious damage to riders and other motor vehicle operators. The rider has no physical barrier between their body and the ground, other objects, or oncoming vehicles. Conversely, cars are at risk of the negligence of motorcyclists who speed, lane split, or take advantage of the bike’s small size and shape and ignore traffic signs and signals.
If you or someone you love was injured in a motorcycle accident, you may be eligible for compensation because of the physical pain and emotional anguish you suffered. For a free review of your case, contact O’Connor, Acciani & Levy at (877) 288-3241.
