Varying Diets Have Pros and Cons Respectively
Dropping meat from a diet can be difficult, but beneficial
The choices aren't all that simple either, and sometimes the choices aren't only based upon health but moral decisions. Other times there are purpose-specific diets that are necessary, such as gluten free diets and weight-cut diets for athletes.
Knowing the varying styles isn't easy, but each holds positives and negatives to each diet type.
Vegetarian is a great concept for those who are looking to become leaner, or lose excess fat they have built over time. A study in 2003 shown in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition noted that it takes 10 times more fossil fuels to create a calorie of animal protein. Meanwhile, vegetarians have known for some time that one can receive all the proteins necessary for positive muscle growth and health with beans, legumes, and oats. The downside of vegetarianism is that not everything begins and ends with proteins. There are lacking amino acids if one does not make sure to eat all the right items. A steak is much easier to remember.
Pescatarian is an offshoot of vegetarianism, wherein one can eat fish meat. Eating fish allows one to consume important omega 3 fatty acids. Salmon is the best for this and other oils, according to experts. The downside of the diet is that fish can be high in mercury, and the problem is becoming larger.
Then there are the more extreme standards such as vegan ism and gluten-free. The former removes all animal byproduct, while the later removes all... gluten, which is not inherently healthy. The downside to both is they are extremely difficult to manage effectively. Health issues can spring up for those who cannot keep either in proper check.
