RomanPolanski.tv Releases New Infogpraph on the Film Repulsion
Roman Polanskiís Repulsion was his debut thriller, and won many awards for its excellency.
New York Times called it ďan absolute knockout of a movie in the psychological horror lineĒ. RomanPolanski.tv has published a new infograph that outlines some tidbits of information about the film, including their plot points, symbols and Polanskiís style.
The main characters, Carol and Helene Ledoux, Michael John, and Colin were all played by Catherine Deneuve, Yvonne Furneaux Ian Hendry and John Fraser. The film chronicles the life of Carol Ledoux, a beautiful woman who descends into madness. She lives in a flat with her sister Helen, and while she is often admired by men, she is repulsed by sexuality. When left to her own thoughts, she starts hallucinating and having delusions, many of which include rape.
Carol ends up murdering her suitor, landlord and when Helen and her husband return to her apartment, they find Carol in a catatonic state. The final scene pans to a family portrait where Carol is a little girl, looking to the side at a male figure with a menacing, ice cold look on his face.
According to RomanPolanski.tv, many critics believe that the film alludes to the fact that Carol was sexually abused by her father as a child, which serves as the basis for her mental break down and insanity.
