Study to Dictate UK Kitchen Designs for the Year
Annual conference will explore study’s findings
The project is slated to establish how drawers, doors, and other systems in the UK kitchen are utilized and the installment and monitors and sensors are set in 20 households. The results are
stated to have an influence of the design, manufacturing, and general installation of kitchens across the country.
“This study is the first three-year study of its kind in the UK and will help us gain an in-depth understanding of how kitchens are used in comparison with the rest of the Europe," says Dr. Peter Beele, FIRA International’s technical development manager.
"Information about how a family treats a kitchen is of vital importance to design, manufacture and installation. This data will help identify trends in the way family life is changing and enable
us to look at areas that would benefit from improvement and innovation.”
The general project was funded by the Furniture Industry Research Association, while the word was carried out with the assistance of Blum UK. The company is an Austrian fittings manufacturer, and has been conducting worldwide studies on kitchens for over a quarter century.
Findings of the project will be presented by the Furniture Industry Research Association in September at the The kbbreview Kitchen Conference. The gathering is used as a networking and seminar event dedicated to solely the UK kitchen industry members.
“The results of the study will be of particular interest to kitchen and kitchen component designers and manufacturers. We are really excited to find out what impact this will have on future kitchen planning and manufacture," Peter continues.
