"New Girl" Star Zooey Deschanel Gives Relationship Advice
After her split from “Death Cab for Cutie” frontman Ben Gibbard, Zooey Deschanel is in a new relationship and feel confident enough to give love and relationship advice.
In the new September issue of Marie Claire, Deschanel is featured on the cover spread, and opens up a little bit about her solid relationship and some advice she learned after her divorce. She told the magazine that, whether you’re married or not, you have to wake up every day and say you want to be with the person you’re in a relationship with. She says it takes commitment, every day and every second and every minute.
George Curely, Deschanel’s interviewer for the magazine told Zooey he had a lot of questions for her, but she only mentioned that they got the dogs from her previous marriage and he adores them very much.
Deschanel also opened up about her financial records being exposed on her divorce petition. She says that it’s a law that couples must provide financial records, but they are public knowledge anyway. A lot of people believed that her lawyer made a mistake, but she didn’t. She had three credit cards, and a $0 balance on all of them. She says it was a little humiliating for the world to see how she handles her money, but it’s over with, and $1,500 a month was shown to be given to charity.
