Drilling Water Recycling Plant Proposed in West Virginia
Planners in Wheeling are considering building and opening a plant that would recycle wastewater from natural gas drilling.
Information sought by the commission includes documentation from the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection and the W. Va. Department of Transportation, showing that the project will meet their guidelines for the plant. The commissioners also asked for documentation from the US EPA showing that the plant will not emit excessive amounts of radiation.
The proposed plant would be located off of West Virginia’s Route 2 will use recycle wastewater from hydraulic drilling, also known as fracking.
