Information Posted By Hackers May Not Be First Lady's reports Credit Score Galaxy

Hacker's posted information may not match politicians and celebrities

(EMAILWIRE.COM, March 23, 2013 ) San Francisco, CA -- President Barack Obama stated on Tuesday that the United States authorities are investigating whether particular hackers found and posted financial information that belongs to the First Lady, as well as a variety of celebrities.

We should not be surprised that if we've got hackers that want to dig in and have a lot of resources, that they can access this information," Obama told ABC News. "Again, not sure how accurate but ... you've got websites out there that tell people's credit card info. That's how sophisticated they are."

The FBI and other U.S. Agencies have stated that they were investigating a website that posted financial and personal information for individuals including Michelle Obama, Vice President Joe Biden, and other key government figures, as well as celebrities.

Parts of the information appear to be fraudulently obtained through a commonly used website for consumer credit reports, according to Equifax Inc.

It is still unclear how much data is accurate, but the bulk of it was added to the website Exposed.su.

The site listed Social Security numbers, telephone numbers, addresses, and credit reports purportedly belonging to as many as 18 prominent Americans. It was found that at least some of the telephone number were inaccurate, and thus the entirety of the information is under question.

Others on the list of 'exposed' individuals include FBI Director Robert Mueller, Attorney General Eric Holder, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Los Angeles Police Chief Charlie Beck, actors Ashton Kutcher and Arnold Schwarzenegger, and property mogul Donald Trump.

Initial investigations found that the perpetrators had personal information on particular individuals which allowed them to pass certain authentication steps.

Asked about the posting on Michelle Obama, Secret Service spokesman George Ogilvie said: "We are investigating the matter. Due to the ongoing investigation we can't comment any further." A Justice Department spokeswoman said the FBI was investigating.
