Mumford and Sons new video to feature Camden reports Turning Camden On
City enjoys positive look at the city
(EMAILWIRE.COM, March 16, 2013 ) Jersey City, NJ -- There will be a much-needed boost for the Camden New Jersey area when a new music video is made by popular British Isles group, Mumford and Sons. The city, which is normally in the news more for crime and poverty, now gets a chance to take a starring role in a new music video by the group.
Camden gets a quality close-up in the video “Whispers in the Dark” which is the new single from the Band's Grammy-winning album, “Babel.” All who view the video get to see the band members at the local aquarium, on the battleship New Jersey, riding down Cooper Street and Delaware Avenue, and all in rather pleasing photogenic moments.
“We were really excited to see they decided to shoot the video here in the city,” Coopers Ferry CEO Anthony Perno.
Perno has loved the way the city comes across in the video, though neither her nor the officials had anything to do with the choice to be filmed there. After the prime-time network feature, which focused on poverty and crime in the area, Perno stated that the video sends a very different message that the city will be happy to enjoy.
“I’m hoping viewers will take a look at it and say there’s something interesting about Camden City,” he says, “and maybe it’s a place I would like to go to.”
The video even culminates the band taking the stage at a sold-out show in the Susquehanna Bank Center.
