During the the International Toy Fair 2013 in New York City, which ran from February 10th, 2013 to February 13th, 2013, many of the new toys for 2013 were on display. Dad Does had reporters on site to cover all the latest on the toy releases and try to determine which toys would be the winners for 2013.
One segment of toys that is set to see plenty of innovation in 2013 are boy toys or blaster toys. Nerf has expanded its line to be more inclusive or girls with the new Nerf Rebelle line. These are all new blasters made specifically for girls. Rather than just add some pink to the “boy” blasters, Nerf developed completely new blasters and shooters with feedback from girls of all ages.
Zing Toys continues to expand its line of accurate and powerful shooters. New for 2013 is the Zing Legends Longbow. This long bow has a range of 125 feet and is incredibly accurate.
Also on display were new blasters from Hog Wild Toys and marshmallow shooters from Marshmallow Fun Company. Basically, if parents are looking for a fun blaster for the kids in 2013, there will be many options.
Dad Does also reports that there were numerous other boy toys besides blasters on display. For example, the new HexBug Nano V2 toys that are coming in Fall 2013 look to be a hit. HexBugs have a loyal following and the new Nano V2 bugs can go upside down and through tubes.
“Checking out the new blasters and shooters is always one of our highlights for Toy Fair. We were very impressed with the new toys coming out in 2013. The blasters keep getting more powerful, more accurate and more fun! Really, does it get better than firing off a marshmallow from a battery operated Mazooka?” states Dan Nessel of DadDoes.Com .
In addition to written reports at Dad Does, curious parents can also tune in to the Dad Does YouTube Channel which features hundreds of video reviews of toys in action. The videos give parents an excellent way to see the toys in action, so they can make informed buying decisions.
Nessel concludes, “The toy industry is really fighting for its life. iPads and iPhones have become a primary source of entertainment for kids and the toy industry needs to figure out how to get the kids excited about toys again. Tablets and smartphones are great, but kids still love the joy of shooting their brother from across the room with a marshmallow blaster! I don’t think any app is ever going to replace the fun of Nerf wars and other blaster battles.”
