Broomall Fire Company Goes Hi-Tech With Its Sign reports Strandvision Digital Signage

Company wants to bring in more to serve in noble cause

(EMAILWIRE.COM, February 26, 2013 ) Menomonie, WI -- The Broomall Fire Company has embarked on advertising campaigns to do its duty in informing the Marple Township of Pennsylvania of its services and a need for increased volunteer firefighters. In the world that is now fully a part of the digital information age, the department wanted to be on the cutting-edge with its new high-quality graphics that would catch the attention of its target audience.

With a station that is situated on a major artery between Philadelphia and the west suburbs, it was an ideal location for recruitment and retention messages to thousands of persons each and every day. Broomall elected to go with fully computer-controlled LED signs rather than the archaic hand-changed message board, in order to try and retain the notice of thousands per day.

"This [sign] will enable us to continually update and refresh our R & R message as well as deliver targeted messages based on the demographics of the passing public," said Jim Capuzzi, president of the Broomall Fire Department. "The colors and graphics are amazing and we have received numerous compliments. The software was easy to master and the LED sign has already attracted new members."

KC Sign and Warnings was the company in charge of installing the Vantage LED sign which featured the powerful Darwin Industrial Control Unit. The department controls the sign using patented software. That software is specifically designed for user-friendly use, while allowing some advanced features for the more tech-inclined of users.

The Broomall Fire Company was first established 90 years ago by 26 men in the region who had a sole purpose of establishing fire protection for the general area. Today, the BFC serves over 24,000 citizens and protects over 11 square miles, including a large stretch of the Interstate 476 track. It has 90 men on staff with approximately 45 men and women who are active firefighters.
