A new collective of photographers have done everything they can to circumvent this with their new website, one that is promising to teach kids whatever they can about photography. It’s something that comes at a pretty great time, sales numbers for digital cameras - and cameras in general - are up from the numbers that were recorded just years ago. Cameras are less expensive than they were a few years ago, and now professional photographers have taken note of this.

As such, they’ve “worked tirelessly on a set of tutorials and other instructional materials that are planned to make better artists,” according to group representative. They use today’s media, and have question and answer sessions with people who email them questions regarding photography. “What’s most impressive by some accounts is the fact that we make it as interactive as they can, and we even have contests to promote young artists’ work, with the winner of certain contests actually winning some gear - sometimes even brand new cameras,” added the rep. “This, of course, increases the number of people actually participating in these contests.”

“This is a pretty good thing because we’re actually promoting these kids to do something other than play video games. We also wished that we had something like this growing up, and looking back, I’d probably be in a much better position than today. We hope that our project will increase in popularity, but I feel as if we keep giving away free stuff - we’ll start seeing the numbers rise. In actuality, I didn’t actually think we’d be this successful. But, everyone likes to show off their work - and everyone loves something that they don’t have to pay for.”
