Teen Driver Safety Program Recognized Nationally Eichholz Law Firm Reports

(EMAILWIRE.COM, January 31, 2013 ) SAVANNAH, GA – The University of Georgia’s teen driver safety program, PRIDE, has been selected to be featured in a new national publication focusing on some of the most innovative safety programs for reducing the number of teen driver collisions, both nationally and in the state of Georgia. PRIDE, Parents Reducing Injuries and Driver Error, was developed in 2003 and has quickly gained recognition.
The program was originally developed by the University of Georgia College of Family and Consumers Services in conjunction with the Georgia Governor’s Office of Highway Safety. The national recognition that the PRIDE program will receive highlights the top five most innovative safety programs focused on reducing the number of auto accidents involving teen drivers.
PRIDE is a two-hour course, free of charge, which emphasizes behavior and knowledge of teens and parents, driving attitude, and a number of general safety tips. In the PRIDE program, parents and teens take separate courses and then come together at the end to discuss lessons, new ideas, and general perceptions of teen driving.
