Miller Appliance Service Inc. of Grand Rapids Michigan has done. The company was started in 1953 by Elmoine David Miller, and began by offering only service work for Frigidaire. At that time, they were the only factory authorized company in the Grand Rapids area.
The first employee of the company was Harold High. When Elmoine Miller retired in 1975, Harold purchased the company from him and continued to build the business.
In 1984, Mike DeYoung joined the company. Harold High continued to run the business until 1994, when he retired. When he retired, Harold sold the business to Mike and Teri DeYoung.
The business has continued to grow and evolve. Today the company provides warranty service for multiple manufactures, and does repair work on many other brands its does not yet offer warranty service for. In addition to now having an office manager, the company also has three service trucks to handle service calls for customers.
All of this growth and expansion was done with an eye on taking care of the customer. When the customer is taken care of, the customer calls Millers back when another appliance needs service. Additionally, customers refer others to Millers knowing they will be taken care of also.
