Australian West Hosts Lavish Homes reports Waratah Carpet Cleaning Sydney

Estate agent claims large manors and mansions bring in interesting types

(EMAILWIRE.COM, January 17, 2013 ) Sydney, Australia -- While the waterfront suburbs of Sydney have been considered proper homes for mega-mansions of the rich and famous variety for many years, Sydney's west is equally known as for attract big spenders with multi-million-dollar Aussie dreams.

Le Chateau in Dural remains one of the more unique homes within Sydney's northwest. The French manor replica comes complete with indoor swimming pool, 12 bathrooms, a detached two-story cabana which overlooks two full-sized tennis court, and a guest house.

The property is practically a standing fairy tale, and was built in 1997. It has been seen on Channel 7's “Beauty and the Geek and Packed to the Rafters”.

Ken Jacobs and Christies International Real Estate began marketing the property at $6.5 million in the fall, and confirm that it is now under a offer.

Jacobs stated that buyers for such properties are an eclectic group o individuals.

"The top end of the local property market is generally dominated by domestic buyers, but for some of the one-off big purchases buyers often come from overseas,'' Mr Jacobs said.

"While we sell a lot of harborfront and waterfront properties, these rural parcels will often sell to people who are not necessarily interested in being near the water -- they just want an interesting home,'' he said.

The such a property can costs tens of thousands per year in maintenance costs alone, Jacobs noted that the rural existence that many buyers are looking for is had by such a property.

"I know of one very wealthy client who loves the time he spends on his ride-on mower he finds it relaxing,'' he said.

Sydney's southwest locations are also host to rather grandiose estates, like the Luke Mannion of McGrath Camden, listed as a nine-bedroom estate in Cobbitty for $7 million.

The home was once one of the homes of Fincorp founder Eric Krecichwost, and sold unfinished in 2008 for $4.5 million.
