Chris Wechner shares a disclaimer, “I used to hate Twitter. I had no use for it for the longest time. I kept Tweeting things, but I would never get anywhere. I was convinced that it was worthless and did not really have any value.”
Many people preach using Twitter as a good marketing practice, but fewer people truly have any evidence of marketing success using Twitter. Social media marketing receives mixed reviews, ranging from people who claim that all business must use it to survive to people who claim that Twitter is an entire waste of time.
Wechner explains, “Twitter is social media and a modified classified ad site rolled into one. Like any other tools, if Twitter is used properly, it can really help a lot of people—many more than most seem to think. I’m now a convert. It’s one of my strongest marketing tools. I can’t imagine going without it now that I understand it better.”
This presentation will show attendees different ways to use Twitter to improve productivity. Chris Wechner will also provide a live demonstration to emphasize or clarify some portion of his presentation.

The vision is for people living this news to be able to feel comfortable providing the newspaper with news that should be shared.
The Community Media Lab offers special event workshops addressing different topics throughout the year. Additionally, staffed by members of Heritage Media-West journalists and editors, the Community Media Lab offers free individual instruction to help people learn specific skills, giving hands-on training.
